Individual BLOG Update#2 --Mac or PC?

As petGRO is in the process of sourcing new desktops for the firm, I did some research related to Mac and PC's. After doing a general analysis based on my research, my suggestion for petGRO is PC's. There is several points need to consider when petGRO doing decisions.

First of all, petGRO is looking for an effective and efficient information systems. Although Mac has a lots of great features and unique software, those are mainly used for personal not for business. There is a lot of software unable to run properly on Mac but user-friendly on PC. For instance, Microsoft Office is a typically business software, most business using this software in the company and it can be easily install to PC's.But Mac can only use iWork instead. If petGRO's accounting department want to use Simple Accounting to perform tasks, they can only choose PC's because Simple Accounting can not run on a Mac operating system.

Second of all is the cost and availability issue. There is many different kinds of PC's in Future shop, Bestbuy, the Source,etc. petGRO has a wide range of choice on brand, quality, price, style and so on. If petGRO goes with Mac, then they can only buy the Mac in Apple store. Additionally, the price for PC's is lower than Mac. Sometimes, people can get a discount when they purchase PC's but Mac is always regular price.

As a result, petGRO should choose PC because it will better support petGRO just-in-time system and cost-effective.
